AED English for Special Purpose (ESP) Instructor, Saudi Arabia
The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia has engaged the services of AED Center for Academic Partnerships to develop and manage a Learning Center for the purpose of meeting the immediate needs for a Math Clinic, English for Special Purposes and counseling services. The KAUST Learning Center is designed to provide math remediation, English for Special Purpose, and counseling services to a highly international group of talented graduate level science and technology students who come from all parts of the world.

We are seeking an ESL/ESP instructor to provide assessment and placement for university’s students, teach as needed, recommend resources and implement tutoring and workshops sessions. The position is temporary (6 months) with a strong possibility of renewal. The instructor will be based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Essential job functions:
•Assess all KAUST students for ESL/ESP Program needs and placement.
•Develop an Individual Development Plan for each assigned ESP student
•Provide rigorous and appropriate instruction to ESP students.
•Make recommendations about the appropriate accommodations for all types of formal assessments within KAUST.
•Implement all procedures and develop related curriculum of the ESP Program as prescribed in all manuals and in written communication from the Learning Center director.
•Develop or identify all necessary curricular materials to implement proposed ESP classes, tutoring sessions and workshops as requested by the Learning Center Director.
•Assist in the development and management of the Learning Center
•Assist in an AED sponsored event, workshop, study session etc.
•Provide assistance with administering feedback surveys and assessments.
•Teach, instruct and tutor as needed.
•Perform other duties as requested by Program Director
Qualifications:
Master's degree in TESOL and/or Applied Linguistics; PhD preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Experience teaching at graduate level, curriculum development and implementation and student counseling; ESL teaching experience and applied knowledge of current theories and issues relevant to language teaching and learning.
Compensation Package:
- $1125/week salary
