A very unique work study TESOL

We are Catholic University of Daegu, one of the leading universities in Daegu City, South Korea. Recently, we have recently implemented a graduate TESOL certificate program through our graduate school of education with assistance from an IVY league university in the U.S..

We are sharing with you a very unique work study program for those who would like to earn graduate credits plus a TESOL certificate while earning an excellent income by teaching English at public school or a private language school.

If you have been accepted into this study and work program, you will be enrolled in our TESOL program and take four graduate courses leading to a graduate TESOL certificate plus 12 graduate credits that will be transfered and applied toward a master degre at a number of U.S. based universities. At the same time, you will be able to work in a public school or a private language school as an English language teacher.

Here are the information about the TESOL program,

The length of the program : 21 weeks
Tuition : US$3,600 for an entire term ( US$300 per credit )
The program starts : November 1, 2010
Application deadline: July 25, 2010 for applicants outside Korea
August 15, 2010 for applicants in Korea
TESOL classes : From 7:00 pm until 9:45 pm on Friday, and then
From 2:00 pm until 7:45 pm on Saturday.

If you would like to pursue a master degree program in TESOL, education, or linguistics at a U.S. university, our partnership universities will accept 9 to 12 credits from our program, which will be transferred and applied toward a master degree at those universities. This cross credit system will help you earn a master degree program within one year and save your education expenses

Here are the information about your job opportunities at a public school.

Qualification : A native English speaker holing a bachelor degree or higher in any discipline
Duration of contract : One year or renewable
Work hours : From 9:00 am to 5:00 pm from Monday through Friday
Teaching hours : 22 hours a week
Payment : Raging from 1.8 million won to 2.7 million won depending your qualification
Paid Vacation : From end of July until end of August in summer
From end of December until end of January
Housing : A furnished apartment will be provided
Insurance : Health insurance will be covered. However, the insurance premium should be shared between the employer and the teacher on 50/50 basis
The position starts : March 1, 2011
Other benefits : If you would like to take Korean language course in our Korean language program during the TESOL session, we will grant you a scholarship that will cover 50% of tuition.
